Ammonite, Douvilleiceras sp, Cretaceous, Madagascar


This is a fossil ammonite that was recovered from Cretaceous (approx. 66 to 145 million years ago) deposits in Madagascar. It has been partially prepared and shows some honey-colored, calcite replacement crystals. Preliminary ID for this specimen is Douvilleiceras sp.
