Ammonite fossils date from the Lower Jurassic to Upper Cretaceous periods. These ammonites have been expertly cut in half and polished to a high gloss. They are perfect for display, collecting, or jewelry making. (For example, these could be used with a setting as a pendant.)
Ammonites are similar in appearance to well-known Nautilus, but it is actually much more ancient.(over 65 million years old). These fossils have been mineralized on their interior, where there are beautiful deposits of calcite, hematite, and other crystals.
The black centimeter cube is shown for size comparison, and is not included. You get the specimen shown. It measures approx. 1-inch (~25mm) in diameter.
