This rock is a chunk of pure anorthosite mineral - the same mineral which constitutes a large portion of the Moon. Many lunar meteorites are almost entirely anorthosite or contain large amounts of it. Many unweathered (fresh) lunar meteorites have a similar appearance to terrestrial anorthosite.
The specimen being offered here is NOT a meteorite - it is a terrestrial rock that is similar to a lunar meteorite and is intended for outreach or educational purposes. It makes a fine show and tell specimen to represent what a large lunar meteorite would look like.
Refer to the photos. The black centimeter cube is shown for scale and is not included. You are purchasing the specimen shown. Your purchase will include a specimen ID label.
