The Bonita Springs meteorite was one of several artifacts recovered from a Indian burial mound in south Florida in 1938. The large 42kg stone was found along with human skeletons, pottery, and other items considered sacred to be buried with the deceased. Apparently the Indians recognized the unusual or special nature of this meteorite and it held some place of veneration in their culture. In 1956, the stone was analyzed by scientists and determined to be an H5 chondrite. Samples of this meteorite are very few and hard to acquire on the collector market. I acquired a small amount from a source with solid provenance and I am offering these micromounts until my limited supply is exhausted.
