Chelyabinsk Russian Meteorite, Lot of 5 Stones

This is a lot of five (5) Chelyabinsk meteorites from the famous witnessed fall and shockwave impact that took place in Russia during the late winter of 2013. The meteorite exploded over the city of Chelyabinsk and the resulting shockwave caused widespread damage to buildings and injured thousands of people across a wide area. Scientists later analyzed the meteorites and classified them as LL5 chondrites. Many thousands of stones were found, ranging in size from less than a gram to more than a hundred kilos each. Approx. 10% of the meteorites have an altermate impact-melt lithology and others are apparent xenoliths from the parent mass.

This lot has five different Chelyabinsk meteorites. One has a cut and polished face. All have fresh black crust. These are mostly whole stones and a couple of them show orientation features like flow lines, roll over lipping, aerodynamic shapes, etc.  You get all 5 (five) meteorites in this lot. They weigh a combined 7.4 grams.
