Davy(a), DeWitt County Texas, L4 Chondrite, Micromount


The Davy (a) meteorite was first recovered from a farm in rural DeWitt County Texas in 1940. It was later analyzed and classified as a L4 chondrite. It is a classic Texas meteorite with a darkened matrix, sparse faint chondrules, and scattered metal flecks.
