Dhofar 1288, Omani H5 Chondrite, Endcut, 3.7g


Dhofar 1288 meteorites were first recovered out of the deserts of Oman in 2004 by a team of Russian scientists and meteorite hunters. Samples were analyzed and classified as a H5 chondrite with a shock grade of S3 and a weathering grade of W2/3. It has a dark mottled matrix with scattered chondrules and scarce metal flecks. The specimen being offered here is an endcut with a polished face. It weighs approx. 3.7 grams.
