Fish Mouth Plate, Drumfish, Peace River


This is a fish mouthplate from a drum type fish - exact species unknown. These have a characteristic "bunch of grapes" look to them. Some can be quite large and others are very small. This is a small example. It was recovered from the Peace River, Bone Valley formation, Hawthorn Group, Florida.
