This is a specimen of fossil micro-matrix rock recovered from deposits along the Peace River in the Bone Valley formation of Florida (Hawthorn Group). This area has rich deposits of Miocene fossils (5,000,000 to 23,000,000 years old). This specimen is a flat chunk of sandy sediment with prolific pebbles, shell fragments, and tiny fossils.
