Megalodon Fossil Shark Tooth, Phosphate Mine, Bone Valley

This is a megalodon shark tooth recovered from a Miocene era deposit in Florida's Bone Valley Formation (Peace River, Hawthorn Group, Florida). This tooth originated from a phosphate mine and that is where it's distinctive bluish coloration comes from. Most teeth salvaged from the mines are beat up and damaged from the mining process. This one is in decent condition despite the abuse at the mine.
