This beautiful "old world" style map shows the Saharan Desert of Northwest Africa. Marked on the map are all of the common meteorite falls, finds, and place names. All of those exotic places you read about or talk about are shown on this map. This map was designed to be a piece of display art and a fun way to associate various meteorites with places. It would be ideal for framing and display in your home, office or near your meteorite collection. It would also make a fine outreach prop when talking about meteorites or meteorite hunting.
Now you can see all of those places that have become household names in the meteorite world since the Saharan Gold Rush - Erfoud, Tindouf, Kem Kem, Great Sand Sea, and dozens more. Locations are keyed with symbols for different types - finds, falls, and hammer falls.
This map was drawn by Brad Nault, a professional artist whose works have sold in galleries and have been used in several popular video games. The map was drawn at full 300dpi print resolution and is available in an oversized giclee canvas.
The approx. 36" x 15" giclee is laser-printed user a high-dynamic, large format printer and is suitable for framing.
Refer to the sample-sized image. Note, the sample is not displayed at full-resolution or size.
There will be a 1-2 business day lead time on printing these giclees, they are shipped rolled in a sturdy tube (insurance and tracking number included).
Each one is numbered and signed by the artist.
This map is available only from Galactic Stone and Ironworks and all rights are reserved.
