New Vinales Meteorite Fall, Feb-01-2019, Micromount

$9.00

On February 01, 2019, a bright fireball was seen over southern Florida, and it exploded in the sky over the Cuban countryside. Local residents were greeted by an explosive shock wave that shattered windows and some stones reportedly fell on houses around the town of Vinales. Meteorite hunters have recovered many fresh meteorites from the strewnfield and samples are currently being sent off for analysis and classification. Classification is pending, but the meteorite is obviously an ordinary chondrite and is likely an L6 type.

The specimens being offered here are small fragments that broke off from a larger fragment. This material was acquired from a veteran meteorite dealer at this year's Tucson show and I only have a very limited amount of it. Don't miss this chance to own an affordable piece of the newest and freshest meteorite on Earth.

Refer to the photo. The black centimeter cube is shown for scale and is not included. You are purchasing a single small fragment like the one shown. Your specimen will include a labeled gemjar for safe storage.
