NWA 5131 was recovered as a single small stone in 2007 from the Saharan Desert in Morocco. It is completely devoid of chondrules and was classified as an LL7 by Dr. Ted Bunch at NAU. More recent studies have cast some doubt on the original classification because testing reveals this meteorite shares some affinities with the CR-clan of carbonaceous chondrites. This strange little meteorite is rarely seen on the market and I acquired some small polished pieces from a deaccessioned university collection.
