NWA 8721, Carbonaceous CK5 Chondrite, Micromount

NWA 8721 was recovered out of the Saharan Desert of Morocco in October 2014. It was purchased by a dealer in the USA and sent for classification at UCLA where it was analyzed by Dr. Alan Rubin. Analysis revealed that the meteorite was a carbonaceous CK5 type. It is mildly shocked and heavily weathered at S2 and W4. After the type sample was removed for classification, there is only a modest ~125g available to collectors.
