This is an incomplete specimen of a humerus bone from a Geomys Bursarius (Pocket Gopher). One end of the bone is missing, but the remaining bone is very well preserved and has good coloration. This bone was recovered from the Peace River, Bone Valley Formation, Hawthorn Group in Florida. This area has rich deposits of fossils from the Miocene, Pliocene, and Pleistocene periods (approx. 11,000 to 23,000,000 years ago).
