Rub al-Khali is in a remote part of the Saudi Arabian desert also known as the Empty Quarter. It is a desolate wasteland of endless sand dunes and punishing heat. This area is also home to the unrelated Wabar impact crater. Meteorites have been recovered from this general area since the late 1950's and early 1960's. Due to a combination of strict Saudi laws and the remote locations, not many Saudi meteorites have made it to the collector market. The meteorite being offered here was recovered from there many years ago and was never officially classified. It is likely an L or H type chondrite.
