Trilobites in Matrix, Cambrian Period, Wheeler Shale, Elrathia Kingi B

This is a superb example of fossil trilobites in matrix. This specimen was recovered from the Wheeler Shale exposure in Millard County Utah. This piece dates from the Cambrian period (approx. 500 million years ago). The trilobites present are the Elrathia Kingi type and there is one large complete trilobite and two smaller partial trilobites. Note, this specimen is quite thick and you could carefully flake off some of the matrix to reveal more trilobites that are hidden. I will leave that decision to the buyer.

This specimen measures approx. 5 x 5.5 x 2 inches (125mm x 140mm x 50mm) and weighs approx. 689 grams (1.5 pounds).

Refer to the photos. The black centimeter cube is shown for scale and is not included. You are purchasing the specimen shown. Your purchase will include a labeled gemjar.
