Description

Yelland Dry Lake is a meteorite that was first recovered in 2007 in a remote desert dry lake in White Pine county Nevada. Subsequent recoveries continue to be made and the total known weight of the recovered pieces weigh over 76 kilograms. A long time ago, this was a sizeable fall and many of the recovered specimens are smallish fragments from larger masses that broke or weathered apart long ago. It was classified at UCLA by Dr. Alan Rubin as a H4 chondrite with shock and weathering grades of S2 and W3. The pieces I am offering here were found on a more recent trip to the strewnfield and I acquired them directly from the finder.
