This is a fine example of a fossil bison tooth (unerupted DP4? premolar, Bison Antiquus) that was recovered from a gravel bed in Florida's Peace River (Bone Valley formation). It measures approx. 1.25 inches by .75 inches (32mm x 20mm). It dates from the Pleistocene period.
