Campo del Cielo is an iron meteorite (coarse octahedrite) recovered from the Chaco province of Argentina. It was first discovered in 1576. The name "Campo del Cielo" means the "Field of Heaven" in the native language. Campo meteorites are considered a staple of the collector market - every collection should have an example of this classic meteorite. These fragments being offered here are oxidized and partially-oxidized shale fragments that are small in size - they are ideal for small budgets, craft use, or destructive analysis.

Refer to the photos. The black centimeter cube is shown for scale and is not included. You are purchasing several small shale fragments selected from the larger lot shown.
