The Dalgety Downs meteorite strewnfield was first discovered in the Gascoyne District of Western Australia in 1941. Many kilograms of fragments were discovered across a wide area. Some of those fragments were analyzed and the meteorite was classified as a L4 chondrite. In the many years since the original discovery, additional kilos of material have been recovered. Dalgety Downs is a classic Australian meteorite that is not commonly seen on the market, despite it's large TKW (total known weight of material recovered).
