This is a lot of five (5) fossil Cowrie shells (Siphocypraea Problematica). They date from the Pliocene period (approx. 2.5 to 4.5 million years ago) and were recovered from deposits in the Tamiami Formation near Sarasota Florida. These are fine examples that are large and in excellent condition. They measure approx. 2 inches to 3 inches in length each.
