This is a lot of fossilized deer antler sections recovered from the Peace River in the Bone Valley formation of Florida. These date from Pleistocene period (approx. 11,000 to 2.5 million years ago). These likely came from a white-tailed or black-tailed deer not too different from those we still see roaming these same areas today. There are many pieces of different sizes. Some have the base portion, others are just shaft or tips. Some are broken, some are naturally polished by river action. There are 340 grams of pieces total (approx. 3/4 of a pound). These would be ideal for carving, scrimshaw, or knife handles.
