Hoba is the world's largest single meteorite. It clocks in at a hefty 60 tons! This meteorite has been known to indigenous peoples long before it's eventual discovery by the western world in the 1920s. It has been declared a national monument in Namibia and is major tourist attraction today.

Hoba is classified as a type IVB iron meteorite. Unoxidized specimens are rare and expensive, if you can find one. The specimens I am offering here are small shale fragments taken from the weathering rind on the outer surface of the meteorite. Each fragment is small, but solid and weigh approx. 10-20mg each.

Refer to the photo. The black centimeter cube is shown for scale and is not included. You are purchasing a single small fragment like the one shown. Your purchase will include a labeled gemjar.
