Libyan Desert Glass is an impactite from the Great Sand Sea region of the Sahara in Libya and Egypt.  It has been used since the time of the Pharaohs in making jewelry and adornments.  Desert Glass (also called Sahara Glass) was created when a massive meteorite slammed into the Saharan Desert millions of years ago.

The lot being offered here is eight (8) pieces that weigh a combined total of 37 grams. These pieces have very nice color, transparency, and wind-sculpted shapes. This lot was collected on an expedition to Egypt in the 1990's.

Refer to the photo.  The black centimeter cube is shown for scale and is not included. You are purchasing all of the pieces shown. Your purchase will include an ID label.
