This is an unusual stony meteorite that weighs 40 grams. It was recovered out of the Moroccan Sahara in the 1990's. This specimen has an attractive patina of remnant crust and wind-polished desert varnish. This specimen is unusual because it has an odd surface texture that somewhat resembles a hematite nodule. It also has a low and inconsistent degree of magnetic attraction. If I saw this stone without seeing the inside of it, I might think it was a meteorwrong. However, this specimen has a polished window showing the interior and you can clearly see many chondrules and a few metal flecks. If I had to guess, I would say this is a L or LL type and is a likely a type 3 or 4 petrologic grade (LL3, L4, etc).

On the off chance this stone turns out to be a very clever meteorwrong imposter, I will refund the buyer's money with no questions asked. If the buyer gets this stone officially classified and it turns out to be an oddball type, I would appreciate a mention in the Met Bull write-up.
