Moldavite is a beautiful green translucent glass that originates from deposits in the Czech Republic that are associated with the nearby Ries Crater impact structure in Germany. Moldavite was created when a giant meteorite slammed into the Earth and the catastrophic impact fused local minerals (and some of the meteorite) into a green, gemmy material. Over the centuries, moldavite has been prized for it's beauty in jewelry making. The highest quality moldavite is cut into faceted gemstones. This moldavite is high quality, but not gem grade. It comes in irregular-shaped pieces that have a deep green color and nice translucency.

Note, each specimen is unique, so the appearance may vary, but it will be of comparable size and color. Your purchase will include a labeled gemjar for safe storage
