This is a piece of volcanic obsidian and was recovered from the slopes of Mount Ararat in Turkey.
After the 2015 Saricicek (Bingol) meteorite fall, hunters from around the world traveled to Turkey to hunt for meteorites. One of those hunters collected a number of meteorwrongs that are volcanic lava ejecta that is scattered around the area of Mount Ararat near the meteorite strewnfield. I acquired a couple of those specimens.
Mount Ararat is famously the resting place for Noah's Ark according to the Christian Bible.
