This is a specimen of NWA 4293 meteorite that was recovered out the Saharan desert prior to 2005. Approx. 25kg of small stones were recovered from an unknown strewnfield, likely in Morocco or Algeria. Samples were analyzed and classified as highly-shocked H6 chondrites. They have a characteristic wind polished patina of remnant crust and desert varnish. They are strongly attracted to a magnet.
This specimen is a whole stone that weighs approx. 4.13 grams.
