NWA 515 is a very early find from the Saharan Gold Rush of meteorites in the late 1990's and early 2000's. At that time, NWA meteorites were a new novelty and had not yet flooded the market with thousands of exotic finds as it stands today. Back then, every new NWA classification was a cause for interest amongst collectors and scientists. Now, with well over 10,000 known NWA meteorites, the novelty has worn off somewhat, but these older low-numbered NWA's are still sought after by some collectors. NWA 515 was recovered out of Morocco in November 2000, and it was classified at UCLA as a L6 chondrite.
