NWA 984 was recovered out of the Saharan Desert in 2001. It was analyzed by Dr. Alan Rubin at UCLA and classified as an LL4 chondrite. It has a characteristic orange matrix. After classification, there were only a few dozen grams available to collectors, and this early NWA is rarely seen on the market.
