$36.00

Sudbury Crater, Ontario, Canada – (diameter : 130km wide, age : 1.85b years)

Sudbury is one of the largest and oldest impact craters on Earth. Almost two billion years ago, a massive meteorite impactor slammed into what is now Ontario. The catastrophic impact was so devastating that it penetrated the Earth's crust and plowed down into the mantle zone. Vast quantities of deep mantle materials were brought to the surface, such as metals like titanium and nickel, and rare earth elements, radioactives, and other minerals not typically seen on the Earth's surface.

Now, the Sudbury site is the home to massive industrial facilities and mines that recover and process all of the exotic metals and rare earths.

The specimen offered here is slab of the rare metallic ore variant of impact breccia. It weighs approx. 42 grams. It is very dense and has a high concentration of exotic metals in it.
