The Travis(a) meteorite was first recovered from a farm area in Travis county Texas in 1889. It was classified as a H5 chondrite. It is heavily-shocked and moderately weathered at S4 and W3. It has a characteristic shock-darkened matrix with glittering metal flecks and sparse chondrules.
