Wanapitei Lake crater (age : 37m years, Eocene period, diameter : approx. 5 km)
The Wanapitei impact crater was formed by a massive impact in the Eocene period. The impact basin subsequently filled with glacial melt water and is now a lake.
The specimen offered here is a thick slice of impact breccia. It weighs approx. 17 grams.
