In 1997, a team looking for Libyan Desert Glass in the Al Wadi al Jadid region of the Egyptian Sahara, found a peculiar black rock that contrasted with other similar rocks in the area. It was later identified as a meteorite and classified as a H4 chondrite that is unshocked and moderately weathered at S1 and W3. Very little of this meteorite has been distributed to collections and it is rarely seen on the collector market.
