You get one (1) specimen of Dominican amber. Each piece has been professionally cut and polished. Each specimen contains at least one insect inclusion. I am not an expert in fossil insects, so I cannot authoritatively identify them, but many appear to be tiny mosquitos and flies. Clarity and color are superb on these pieces.

This amber originates from mines in the Dominican Republic. It fluoresces blue under UV light. This material dates from the Miocene epoch (approx. 20 million years ago). Each piece averages one to two grams, but some are a little larger or smaller.

Note, these look fantastic under magnification like a loupe or microscope. Capturing the inclusions in photos is tricky and I lack the skills and steady hand for it.

Refer to the photos. The black centimeter cube is shown for scale and is not included. You are purchasing ONE (1) specimen selected from the larger lot shown. Your specimen will include an ID label and gemjar for safe storage.
