The Tolar meteorite was originally found by a cattle rancher on a farm in De Baca county New Mexico in 1972. The rancher thought it was unusual and kept it. It was not until decades later that he saw a poster about meteorites and it was recognized as a meteorite.

Oddly, although this meteorite was analyzed, it was never officially published in the Meteoritical Bulletin. The reasons for this are unknown. Analysis showed that the stone was a H4 chondrite. I tried researching this meteorite further, but could not find out much about it.
