This is a large, uncut, stony meteorite that weighs 351 grams. This specimen has a beautiful coating of fresh, black fusion crust. This meteorite has an aerodynamic shape and it displays well in several positions. It has some chondrules visible on the surface. This is a classic example of a stony meteorite with nice heft to it. It would make an ideal educational or outreach prop. It would also serve as a fine display specimen.
This meteorite was recovered from the Saharan Desert in the 1990's. This stone is a higher quality than most of those recovered more recently. It is uncut and has only been lightly cleaned with a soft brush to remove sand and dust. It could benefit from a better cleaning, but I don't like to disturb these stones too much during handling. So I will leave a final cleaning to the buyer.
Judging by appearances and magnetic attraction, this meteorite is likely a L or H type chondrite.
