This is a lot of three sections of fossilized wood that were recovered from the Peace River in Florida's famous Bone Valley formation (Hardee County, Hawthorn Group). The exact species of these specimens are not identified, but it likely dates from the Pliocene or Pleistocene periods (many thousands or millions of years old). These pieces show nice detail and grain. The lighter colored piece was recovered from clayey-sand and the darker pieces are stained from river tannins.
