This fossil gastropod specimen is a Sinistrofulgur sp. (related to the modern left-handed, Lightning Whelk). It has had a very light cleaning with a soft brush. It was were recovered from a Miocene-Pliocene deposit in the Bone Valley formation of south central Florida. It is approx. 2,000,000 to 23,000,000 years old. There is still a small amount of matrix material inside this specimen, which may contain additional small fossils if carefully removed.
