This is a large and pristine example of a fossil Hemipristis sp. shark tooth. Teeth from this extinct predator top out at about 2-inches, and this specimen measures 1.5 inches. It has beautiful serrations and color. There is no damage. This beast roamed the shallow seas of Florida in the Pliocene period (approx. 5-20 million years ago). This example was recovered from the Peace River in the Bone Valley formation.
