These are excellent examples of a Vasum sp. and Fasciolaria sp. gastropods that were recovered from the Bone Valley formation in Florida. These shell date back to the Pliocene period (2.5 to 5.3 million years ago). Both specimens are still filled with fossiliferous matrix material and have some matrix attached to the outside - they could benefit from additional prep work which might reveal more small fossils hidden inside these shells. The Fasciolaria measures a little over 4 inches long (100mm) and the Vasum measures approx. 3 inches (75mm).
