This is a standard jeweler's loupe with a stated magnification of 10x. Optical quality is good, but I think 10x is optimistic. It produces a good image, but I think the actual magnification is a little less, maybe 8x.
Either way, it's a good loupe for the money. It has a glass lens, metal body, and a loop for a lanyard. I carry a cheap loupe on a cord like this when I go out into the field. I leave my good one at home, and if I lose or drop the cheapie, then it's no big loss. It comes with a little felt-lined plastic carry case. Made in China, of course.
Every meteorite, mineral, or fossil collector should have one of these.
